As the founder of RC Dermatology and Iowa Dermatology Clinic, Dr. Love has been providing the highest quality dermatology care for over 25 years. Dr. Love provides both adult and pediatric patients with competent, compassionate care and all patients are treated utilizing the most medically advanced techniques. -

Dr. Shawn R. Sabin is a board-certified dermatologist, board-certified Mohs surgeon and a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine, completed a residency in dermatology at the University of Iowa College of Medicine and completed a Mohs fellowship at Baptist Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She began her career in dermatology by running a solo practice in Dubuque before relocating to Kansas City to specialize in Mohs surgery for 20 years. After 42 years away, she moved back to the Des Moines area to be closer to family and joined the RC Dermatology team. Dr. Sabin has a special interest in treating skin cancer through relatively simple procedures and educating patients on potential danger signs. She urges everyone to get a baseline dermatology check! When she isn’t treating and educating patients at RC Dermatology, she enjoys walking, spending time with her husband and extended family, reading, attending the theater, watching movies, dining out and spending time in Clear Lake. -

Dr. Faraaz Zafar is a dedicated and highly trained dermatologist with a passion for providing comprehensive skin care. Dr. Zafar earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and pursued his medical degree at the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He completed his Transitional Year Internship at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin, followed by a dermatology residency at Marshfield Clinic Health System in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Dr. Zafar chose dermatology because he is fascinated by the variety and complexity of skin conditions and enjoys the mix of medical, surgical, cosmetic, oncologic, and preventative care. His special interests lie in complex medical dermatology and dermatologic surgery, with a focus on helping patients achieve clear skin and the best cosmetic outcomes. Outside of RC Dermatology, Dr. Zafar enjoys sports, weightlifting, reading, exploring new cuisines, and playing the guitar. At 6'9", he quite literally brings a unique perspective to the practice. He looks forward to serving the dermatological needs of his diverse patient population and making a positive impact in their lives. -

Dr. Webb is a Board-Certified Dermatopathologist and member of the American Society of Dermatopathology. Dr. Webb completed his Master of Science degree in Biology from Purdue School of Science, Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis, IN and his medical degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, IL. While at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, he was recognized with the Outstanding Contribution in Biochemistry Department Award for his work as a research assistant. After obtaining his medical degree, Dr. Webb completed his residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine. During his residency, he was a College of American Pathologists’ resident forum delegate at the national level advocating change for pathology residents. Dr. Webb completed his fellowship in dermatopathology at Indiana University. Prior to joining Radiant Complexions Dermatology, Dr. Webb served as a dermatopathologist at a diagnostic pathology organization in the Pacific Northwest. -

While providing the best dermatology services is her ultimate goal, she is especially interested in the care and treatment of psoriasis. Prior to joining RC Dermatology nine years ago, she was an RN at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines for eight years. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree and completed a fellowship under RC Dermatology’s Dr. Love. She originally joined the medical field wanting to make a positive impact on patient's lives after witnessing a close family member struggle with health complications. Now, with a focus on medical dermatology, Heidi is continuously motivated by the constant medical advances and research that improves patient care and quality of life. When she isn’t at RC Dermatology, Heidi enjoys showing horses with her two daughters, cheering on her son at sporting events and gardening. -

He started in nursing in 2006 as a CNA, and after completing his nurse practitioner training in 2018, he started in the field of dermatology. He also enjoyed a 3-month fellowship with RC Dermatology’s Dr. Love. Along with an aptitude and love for solving complex cases, he’s passionate about making sure everyone is regularly screened for skin cancer. With all the recent medical advances in multiple disease states, he’s especially excited to see what the near future holds for dermatology. When Rodney is not at RC Dermatology, you can find him hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his wife and two daughters. -

While fascinated by all aspects of the largest organ of the body, she is especially interested in treating eczema and acne. Helping patients truly motivates her every day, but when she isn’t at RC Dermatology, she loves spending time with her husband and children, going to church, completing puzzles, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. -

After she earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree, she completed an extensive dermatology fellowship under Dr. Love and many other RC Dermatology providers. She chose dermatology, because she finds it very rewarding to help patients of all ages with various skin conditions that affect their quality of life. Working in rural areas with patients who have had a lot of sun exposure, she especially enjoys the detail-oriented task of performing thorough skin exams. She also enjoys treating psoriasis and seeing the positive effects of various new medications for the condition. When Abby is not at RC Dermatology, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on walks, doing home projects and going shopping! -

At RC Dermatology, she loves seeing patients of all ages and providing comprehensive care, but her specific areas of interest include skin cancer, acne and psoriasis. She loves giving her patients renewed confidence by improving their skin’s appearance. Taylor is a dermatology-trained physician assistant. After earning her bachelor’s degree, she went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. While in PA school, she completed a one-month rotation with Dr. Love and started working with him full time upon completion. She also completed a three-month dermatology fellowship with Dr. Love and has 80 hours of dermatology CME (Continuing Medical Education). While she enjoys all aspects of restoring patients’ confidence after being affected by a visible disease process on the skin, she is especially passionate about skin cancer screenings and full-body skin checks. She finds obtaining skin clearance for patients who are significantly burdened by their disease and keeping it in the clear with the numerous treatment options available very rewarding. When Taylor isn’t at RC Dermatology, she enjoys traveling to experience other cultures, yoga, reading books, and spending time with friends, and playing with her new puppy, Rudder. -

Prior to dermatology, Krishna worked in outpatient (wound care and hyperbaric medicine) nursing, as well as nursing leadership. She found great interest in wound care, which brought her to the specialty of dermatology. Prior to practicing, she completed an extensive four-month residency in dermatology. She finds all aspects of the specialty intriguing and diverse, because for example, if you are not screening to prevent large defects or metastatic cancers, you are helping patients improve their self-image through the treatment of acne, psoriasis and more. When Krishna is not at RC Dermatology, she loves creating fun memories with her two boys, traveling, enjoying the outdoors and listening to music. -

Before joining RC Dermatology, she worked for approximately eight years at the Mayo Clinic on a surgical unit specializing in general and plastic surgery. She credits this experience for building a solid foundation in dermatology. However, her interest in healthcare started at a much younger age, after her father was diagnosed with a rare, debilitating disease. She ultimately chose the field of dermatology, because it provides a perfect balance between hands-on procedures and patient education. Within dermatology, she has a special interest in managing acne and performing skin cancer screenings. Her long-standing interest in dermatology is driven by the opportunity to treat skin conditions and help patients feel confident in their skin. She has a particular interest in acne treatment and skin cancer screening. Outside of her work at RC Dermatology, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, running, spending time outside, and cheering on her kids at the soccer field. -

Outside of work, Kathryn enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and bulldog, Steele. Together, they love vacationing in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
